The United States has vetoed a U.N. Security Council draft resolution condemning Israel’s killing of civilians in the town of Beit Hanun in the Gaza Strip.

Washington has vetoed a draft on Israeli operations for the second time this year.

In the voting of a draft resolution that would condemn the Israeli attacks in Gaza Strip, and especially the one on Beit Hanun where 18 civilians were killed, 10 Security Council members supported the draft, whereas Japan, Denmark, Great Britain and Slovakia abstained.

Despite overwhelming support, the draft was not passed because of U.S. opposition.
